CPS sketch sponsored by Sweet N Sassy stamps

This week Sweet N Sassy stamps is the proud sponsor on the card positioning systems blog this week.

Here is this week's sketch and my card that I made with it

I stamped the sentiment and sponged around it using my oval die as a stencil. I absolutely love this sentiment from the newly released True Friend stamp set! I stitched each of the sections with my janome sew mini. The primas were each painted with shimmerz paints and then accented with pearls.

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps True Friend
CS- creamy caramel, bazzill dk brown, basic grey bittersweet dp
accessories- pink taffeta ribbon, pearls, pink poinsettia blingz shimmerz, gold glimmer blingz, corner rounder punch, sewing machine, oval nestabilities, primas

If you decide to participate in the sketch challenge and post a link to your project in THIS post on the CPS blog by Friday night you are eligible to be put into a random drawing for a great prize from Sweet N Sassy stamps! So get creating- we'd love to see what you come up with.

Have a blessed day!

First hanna stamps sneak peek

On Friday January 9th hanna stamps will be releasing 3 stamp sets and 2 rileys. I also sadly have to announce that this is my final release with hanna stamps. Time and different personal commitments forced me to make the hard decision to resign from my position on the DT. But on a positive note, I have a quick post for you showcasing one of the stamps from the new I love my garden set. My husband's favorite flower is a sunflower so he actually really likes this set LOL.

I used the SCS color challenge today for the palette (pumpkin, brilliant blue, garden green). The image was colored with prismapencils and blended with gamsol. I cut out and popped up the flower then added a button accent. I used the verve looking for love sketch challenge today for my layout.

Supplies:
stamps- hanna stamps I love my Garden
CS- jersey shore dp, brilliant blue, garden green, white
accessories- prismapencils, rhinestones, button, fiskars border punch, white satin ribbon, pop dots

Kristi, owner of hanna stamps, is very appreciative of her customer's patronage that she is offering a 10% discount off your order with no minimum purchase. This is perfect timing for the new release! When ordering please use the discount code SUPPORT and that will discount your order for you.

Well, better get to bed because morning will be here shortly and apparently a winter storm too- yikes! Thanks for coming by

Happy Monday to you, I hope you have had a nice weekend. Well, I hope your mojo is flowing because today starts a new weekly sktetch from Julee Tilman and it is a contest week with the prize being your choice of any Verve stamp set $24 or less. Sound good? All you have to do is make a project using this week's sketch and link your creation on the mojo Monday blog. Yes, you read that correctly- mojo Monday BLOG! Now mojo Monday has it's very own blog and I am thrilled to bring to you my very first sample as a part of the mojo maker team. Have a look at the sketch and my card:

So, what do you think- isn't the sketch fabulous? Julee is terrific at making sketches and this one is no exception. I really enjoyed it and hope you will decide to play along with us. Now for the card deets. The image was colored with prismapencils and blended with gamsol and stumps. I added crystal effects to the heart between the owls. I stamped the sentiment and sponged around it using my oval nestie die as a stencil. For the pink heart brads I used tweezers and stamped them onto a versamark pad first then into iridescent ice embossing powder and heated with a heat gun so that they would now be shimmer brads.

Supplies:
stamps- high hopes love birds, owl love you
CS- pretty in pink, chocolate chip, basic grey bittersweet dp, white
accessories- prismapencils, crystal effects, making memories brads, 1/2" circle punch, labels one nestabilies, piercabilities border, iridescent ice ep, taffeta ribbon, oval nestabilities

To see the rest of the mojo makers' samples and see the deets on this week's challenge be sure to visit the mojo Monday blog.

Thanks for coming by and have a wonderful day!

High Hopes First 2009 challenge

Hi everyone! Today the high hopes first challenge of the new year is posted. There are some stamps up for grabs for a random participant of this week's challenge. The challenge was to use tearing on your card. I did 2 examples for the challenge. I wanted to make some New Year's cards for some people that I was unable to mail a Christmas card to.

Here is the first card:

I colored the image with copics and cut it out so that the ax would be omitted. I distressed the edges and matted it tearing the bottom of the mattes. I sanded the edges of the dp and tore 2 strips of paper to go across the seams of the 2 designs following with some twine.

Supplies:
stamps- high hopes Father time and new year sentiment
CS- KandCompany dp, soft sky, bazzill brown, white
accessories- copics (E31, E33, E37, BG10, E00, R20, C1, C4), white gel pen, edge distressor, twine, shimmer brads

Here is the second card:

Now can't you just see santa relaxing on a beach with a cool drink after Christmas LOL?

I colored the image with copics, used angel wings shimmerz on the hat trim, and used a paintbrush to stipple the sky and sand. I used the our creative corner sketch this week for my layout and tore the yellow sunshine dp strip. I used a rhinestone accent on the glass and for the exclamation point.

Supplies:
stamps- high hopes tropical santa, new year sentiment
CS- imaginisce dp, red, white
accessories- copics (G21, R46, R27, R59, E00, E33, E37, C1, prisma sunburst yellow), white ribbon, angel wings shimmerz, copic spica glitter, red brads, rhinestones, SU scalloped circle punch

To check out the divas' awesome samples and to get more details on the challenge and the prize be sure to check out the high hopes blogpost today.

I just love the color combination, and the scalloped edge just makes the card look for feminine.

Another Sweet N Sassy sneak peek and some news

Well, tonight is the release party over in the Sweet N Sassy Forum where you have a chance to chat, do challenges and win some prizes. Sound good? See you there tonight at 9 PM EST then! In the meantime... here is another sneak peek for you using Love Blooms which is going to be released tonight after the release party.

I stamped the pink bg paper repeatedly with one of the rose stamps from the set then sponged the edges. I stamped the vase, colored it with copics, accented with a spica glitter pen, then popped the vase up on pop dots. I stamped the sentiment beneath and used some heart shimmer brads as accents along the bottom.

close up

For the inside I used my new labels one nestabilites, which can also be found at SNSS, to stamp the sentiment on and then sponge while still in the die. I also stamped, colored and cut out one of the rose images to lay over the corner of the sentiment. Here is a picture of the inside:

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps Love Blooms
ink- memento black, sweet blush from PTI
CS- white, sweet blush (PT), red, black
accessories/tools- double sided ribbon, making making shimmer heart brads, copics, spica glitter pen

For the layout of the card I used Julee Tilman's mojo Monday 67 sketch for this week. She always has fantastic sketches and did you see that mojo Monday now has it very own blog?! Well, I am super duper excited to share with you now that Julee has invited me to be a part of her mojo sample maker team. Celebrating the New Year with BLOG CANDY!!

Hello everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! I know that there are so many things that I am thankful for in 2008 and I pray for a happy, healthy and prosperous 2009 for you.

Well, what a way to celebrate the New Year- with new stamps! Sweet N Sassy stamps is releasing 7 new stamp sets tomorrow (Jan 2) and I am blessed to be able to offer one stamp set to you for blog candy. Korin, the owner of SNSS, has generously given EACH of the DT members a stamp set to give away on our blogs so that means you have 14 chances to win candy- how cool is that?? The set I am giving away is called True Friend and it is a great versatile set that can be used on both the outside and inside of cards. I love it and I think you will too. Here is a picture of the set you have a chance to win from me:

I also have a sneak peek card to show you featuring 2 of the new sets- one of them being true friend which is the one I am offering today.

On the top section I embossed the heart and then use my piercabilities to paper pierce a pattern around it. I painted the heart with pink poinsettia blingz shimmerz and then accented the pattern with pearls. I stamped my sentiment in the scalloped circle which is from the new love blooms set being released and sponged a heart over the top from a mask I made from a punched out heart.

Here is the inside of the card featuring the true friend stamp set:

I stamped the verse and then sponged over it with pink ink. I did this by creating a square stencil with my nestabilities.

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps Love Blooms, True Friend
CS- basic grey bittersweet dp, white, burgundy
ink- burgundy, pink
accessories- Spellbinders piercablities, MS doily lace border punch, white satin ribbon, pearls, pink blingz shimmerz, shimmer heart brads, heart punch, scallop punch, circle punch, Marvy scallop corner punch

So to win the True Friend stamp set all you need to do is to leave a comment on this post and the winner will be drawn tomorrow night (Friday) during the release party. The party will be in the forum on the SNSS website starting at 9PM EST.

After you leave your comment here be sure to head on over to Suzy's blog. She has has awesome card to share with you and blog candy as well.
