mojo Monday Week 119

Hi everyone!! I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas. Mine was pretty good...busy though. Believe it or not I never mailed any Christmas cards lol. I gave some out to coworkers of my hubby and I but none of our family or friends received any. Oh well, next year. It is mojo Monday of course so time for another rockin sketch from Julee! My sample and the sketch are below.

The set Jesus cares from Sweet N Sassy stamps is a perfect option for these types of cards since it is filled with great sentiments and scriptures. Pretty simple and straight forward card. I did distress the edges of the dp which is something that I have done done for awhile. I wanted to do some sewing on the card but it was late and I was just too tired lol.

I made this card for my friend Janice who was diagnosed with cancer (multiple myeloma) 3 days before Christmas. I thought it might be of encouragement to her since she will be visiting the oncologist this week. You can read more about her story on Caring Bridge if you are interested.

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps Jesus cares
CS- BG porcelain dp, certainly celery, Paper Temptress hot fudge and cryogen white
accessories- pearls, nestabilities, twill ribbon, primas, MS branch punch

There are some terrific samples from the mojo makers on the mojo Monday blog for you to see.

Thanks so much for visiting today and have a blessed day!

Mojo Monday Week 118

Well, here it is Christmas week!! I am much farther behind this year than ever before. Of course, this is one of the first years that I have been working like a crazy woman. This week's mojo sketch is a pretty simple one and was just what I needed! Below is the sketch and my sample:

I used the adorable Snow Friends set from Sweet N Sassy stamps for my card. It is a perfect set for all winter cards- Christmas, Valentine's, or general occasion and it is super cute! I colored the snowpeople with copics and added some stickles as an accent for some sparkle. The main white layer was run through the swiss dots cb folder and then stamped with the sentiment. The piercing was done with the Victorian ornare border piercing template, it gives it just the right touch.

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps Snow Friends
CS- blue bayou, pink pirouette
accessories- swiss dots cb folder, eyelet lace punch, stickles, ornare piercing template, copics, stitched ribbon, button

Deer Friends Sketch

Well, today I called in sick to work per se. I have been working so much and just got so run down and behind on many things. So, while doing some laundry downstairs I just happened to walk into my craft area and create a card. I played along with the sketch challenge (SC259) on SCS and used that for my layout.

This is a digital stamp from Sweet N Sassy stamps called Deer Friends. The image actually has 2 reindeer in it but the image was cropped and enlarged using just one of the deer. That is one of the cool advantages of using digi images. Another advantage is that you have them immediately so if you still have some cards left to make you get still get this adorable image and get them done in time for Christmas! I colored it with copics and used rustic red shimmerz paint on the bow and berries as well as rhinestones in the antlers.

closer view

I also used one of SNSS discontinued sets called Jesus is Born for the sentiment on the inside of the card. It is now 70% off- are you kidding me???

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps Deer Friends digital stamp, You Light up my Life (sentiment), Jesus is Born (inside of card)
CS- My Mind's Eye dp, riding hood red, baja breeze
accessories/tools- corner rounder punch, rhinestones, sewing machine, cb vintage dies, shimmerz paint, copics

Thanks so much for stopping by, have a blessed day!

mojo Monday Week 117

Good mojo Monday everyone! It has been quite some time since my last post. I apologize for that and I know how super busy all of us are. Between Christmas, working, sickness and the horrible weather that we have had recently I have had very little "me" time. I am happy to say that I did make a few cards this weekend so I will have another post in a day or so as well. Anyway, on to the mojo...below are the sketch and my sample.

This is from the newly released Trees of the Field set by Sweet n Sassy stamps. Just as a reminder also that $5 from every set purchased goes to the Anderson family who recently lost their 3yr old son Henry. It is such a great set that you can use for many different types of cards including masculine cards which for me are more difficult to make lol. I chose to do another wintry type card with it and I left off the sentiment because I am not sure if I will end up using it for Christmas or possibly as a thank you or thinking of you card. I sponged around the tree while in the die and added stickles as an accent to the tree.

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps Trees of the Field
CS- pink pirouette, olive, BG Eskimo kisses dp
accessories- pink satin ribbon, stickles, circle nesties, paper piercer, victorian pierceabilities

Sweet N Sassy December release

Today Sweet N Sassy stamps released 2 wonderful new sets, Punny Fruits and Veggies and Trees of the Field. I know that you are going to LOVE them both. Today I have a card featuring the Trees of the Field set.

I stamped the tree image several times and a couple of them I stamped off so that I would get some lighter trees in the bg. I sponged some blue ink to create a sky and horizon lines. To complete this wintry scene I added some stickles glitter glue of course LOL.

inside of card

I sponged blue ink on the inside using the negative opening from the oval that was die cut for the trees. I then stamped the sentiments inside using the Jesus is Born set and the Christmas poinsettia sets from Sweet N Sassy stamps.

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps Trees of the Field, Jesus is Born, Christmas Poinsettias
CS- CTMH black, white, star-spangled blue
accessories- stickles, cb embossing folder, grosgrain ribbon, oval nesties, white gel pen, black rhinestones

This set is a versatile set that can be used for sympathy, all occasion, Christmas, masculine- you name it! Not only that but some of the proceeds from the sales of this set are going to the Anderson family who recently lost their 3yr old son. You can read more about it HERE. There is also a great slide show on the SNSS website featuring many cards using the new sets.

Christian Papercrafts blog hop featuring Unity stamps

This month's vendor spotlight for Christian Papercrafts is Unity stamps. This is the first time that I have used Unity stamps and they stamp just beautifully. I chose to make a CAS card today because I am in the need of some thank you cards that are not bulky and easy to mail. The new Simple Blessings stamp set fit the bill perfectly!

I stamped the 3 beautiful leaf images onto Paper Temptress Cryogen white cardstock. If you are going to make a CAS then choose a cardstock that can stand well on it's own. Each of the leaves were die cut using my mega curved rectangle nestabilities and then mounted with pop dots onto the chocolate cardstock strip. I stamped "thanks" at the bottom and accented the bottom with 2 scor lines that I made with my scor-pal.

Supplies:
stamps- Unity stamps Simple Blessings set
CS- Paper Temptress cryogen white, pop tones hot fudge
accessories- scor-pal, nesties

Make sure you check out the rest of the gorgeous creations from the CPC design team, they are truly inspiring!

Poison Ivory dream

Today I would like to share a card with you that I made this week for the sketch and color challenges this week on SCS. The colors were to use burgundy, artichoke, coral and vanilla.

I stamped my silhouette image with burgundy ink onto Paper Temptress poison ivory iridescent cardstock. I love the subtle shimmer that it has and the silhouettes are from one of my favorite Sweet N Sassy sets called Dream Silhouettes. I then sponged artichoke and coral ink around the image which still in my rectangle die. I accented the flowers with stickles glitter glue. The artichoke patterned paper was matted onto the poison ivory and then onto the burgundy. All the layers were sewn before attaching to the ivory card base.

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps Dream Silhouettes
CS- Paper Temptress poison ivory, basis burgundy, artichoke dp
accessories- pearls, grosgrain ribbon, stickles, rectangle nesties, sewing machine

Mojo Monday Week 108

Hello everyone. Time for another wonderful mojo Monday sketch!

This adorable little image is something that Korin, owner of Sweet N Sassy stamps is cooking up for us. I can't let the cat out of the bag YET but stay tuned for more info coming soon LOL! We are really looking forward to revealing the surprise.

Meet Emma. She loves the Lord and helping her mommy around the house. She wants to be a mommy and teach Sunday School when she grows up. This is all I am allowed to say for now.

I colored the image with copics and used a spica glitter pen on the balloon, bows, and trim of the dress. Stickles were used to accent the dots on the bag and a rhinestone in the middle of the flower. I chose to make this card because it is also for the first Kraftin Kimmie challenge which is just to make a birthday card. My friend and former DT member of high hopes stamps has now opened up her own online store. I am so excited for her and not only her but for my very dear friend Crissy Armstrong who is one of the illustrators for the new company. Let me just say if Crissy drew it, you know it is adorable!! Love you girls and best wishes to you on your new venture.

Supplies:
Sweet N Sassy stamps Emma (not released yet)
CS- baja breeze, riding hood red, SU dp
accessories- baja ribbon, rhinestone, copics, white gel pen, sparkle stickers, circle punch

Sympathy color challenge

I have been so busy that I have not been able to play in many of the Splitcoast challenges like I used to. Tuesday I was able to jump into the color challenge and it was a combo that I would not have thought of so that is cool. I really like the soft and subtle look of mellow moss, kraft, and white. I thought they were very soothing and would make a good combo for a sympathy card.

I embossed the forget me nots with white onto kraft paper and sponged moss ink around them while still in the nestie die. I added a pearl to the center of each and used a white gel pen to draw a frame around them to make them stand out. My layout is from the sweet stop sketch blog this week. This is one of my favorite sets from Sweet N Sassy and was just released on October 1st. They look great colored (or not) and the set contains some wonderful sentiments so it is very universal too. You can see the set HERE. I know you will love it!

I was also wondering if you guys would be willing to do me a favor too. When you place your orders with Sweet N Sassy stamps if you could just put my name in the comment field (JANETTE) so they know who referred you. It is something new we are going to try out. I am hoping to win a set and if I do that is going to mean some blog candy for you all here on my blog- sound good?

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps Forget Me Not
CS- mellow moss, white, kraft, Anna Griffin dp (this has been in my scrapbooking stash forever)
accessories- pearls, curved rectangle nesties, white satin ribbon, pop dots, white ep

Thanks for stopping in today. Many blessings to you!!

October mojo Monday CONTEST

It is the first Monday of the month and that means contest week for all you mojo Monday fans! There will be one card chosen by the mojo makers for every 75 cards that is the mojo-ist and the winners will all receive their choice of a Verve stamps set valued at $24 or less. What an awesome prize huh? Below are this week's sketch and my sample.

I have been having a bit of a struggle lately with some things so I thought this verse would be a perfect reminder how everything is on God's perfect timing and not mine. This is a very good thing but is sometimes difficult when going through it. Besides, here in the northeast we are experiencing the changing of the leaves and the image and verse was very fitting for that too. So, this card is also for the Verve stamps project parade this month in which the theme is to make an encouragement or friendship card. How fitting this is huh? If you play along you have a chance to win a terrific Verve gift certificate for $30. Lots of Verve up for grabs this week!

I pulled out some dp from SU in my stash that I have not used in awhile. I am committed to using the supplies that I currently have and not purchase new. I would love some new stuff but I probably have enough paper to wallpaper my entire house and the neighbor's so must use it first. Anyway, I thought the colors were great for a fall card. I first stamped my leaf from the Autumn blessings set off once with pumpkin ink and then stamped it on ivory CS. The scripture from the Encouragement set was stamped over the top with chocolate and the edges were lightly sponged with wasabi ink while still in the circle die. Since, I have been asked by quite a few of you, the trick to the sponging is to really make sure that the sponge is fairly dry with ink. So you need to take some of the ink off of it after tapping it onto the ink pad. I also use circular motions starting off the die.

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps Autumn blessings and Encouragement scripture set
CS- river rock, chocolate, SU dp
accessories- brown pearls, stitched ribbon, circle nesties, sewing machine

Take a run on over to the mojo Monday blog for the contest details and for a peek at the great samples that my fellow mojo makers have prepared for you.

Have an awesome day!!!

Sparkling snowflakes on a mojo Monday!

Hi everyone! It's mojo Monday and the last sketch for September- wow! That means next Monday will be contest week- woohoo! Below is the sketch and my sample. I struggled a little with it and should have adjusted my measurements a little but all in all it came out ok. See what you think.

This card did not really take me that long to make once I figured out what I was doing LOL. I used some gorgeous papers that you can find at Paper Temptress from the metallic line- white diamonds and lapis metallic. Besides being my sample for the mojo sketch this week, it is also my submission for the color challenge at Christian Papercrafts this week which is to bling it on using metallics, bling etc. I stamped my snowflakes from Sweet N Sassy stamps with navy ink and accented them each with a rhinestone in the center. I then stamped my sentiment with navy and accented that with rhinestones also. The white panels were run through my cb folder.

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps snowflakes set
CS- Paper Temptress white diamonds, lapis metallic
accessories- rhinestones, snowflakes cb folder, navy organdy ribbon

Stop by the mojo Monday blog and check out the sketch details and the mojo makers rockin samples.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping in today!

PS. About 2 weeks ago my visitor counter seems to have lost like 40,000 hits. It still has not fixed itself. Has this happened to anyone else?? I had been planning on blog candy for 50,000 since it crossed that mark but now it's gone- weird.

September Sweet Stop with a Spin

It's Saturday and that means Sweet Stop sketch time. This week we also have our monthly "sketch with a spin" challenge PLUS a terrific prize for one lucky participant! If that weren't enough, we've got a couple sneak peeks using our upcoming October release stamp sets. Talk about a ton of fun!!

This month the "spin" is a color challenge. Please use any combination of red, black, and tan on your creation in addition to following the sketch. If you participate in the challenge and link your project on the sweet stop blog by Friday, September 25, you will be entered into a drawing to win both of our September new release stamp sets -- "Waddle I Do?" and "You Light Up My Life"!! I have used the You light up my life set for my card today.

I first created my patterned paper by using snowflake stamps from the Snow Friends set and the Snowflakes set from Sweet N Sassy stamps. I stamped them in white, red, and black then sponged the edges with white and stitched it onto my black sparkle paper. I stamped the snowman onto my kraft paper and colored him with a white prismapencil and copics. I always wanted to try the white on kraft- pretty neat! I paper pieced the scarf and used diamond stickles for the lights. The edges of the circle were also sponged with white.

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps "Light of the World", Snow Friends, and Snowflakes sets
CS- Paper Temptress kraft, sparkle black, basis red, SU dp
accessories- black rhinestones, white gel pen, stickles, prismapencil, copics, circle nestabilities, stitched ribbon
