My First Magnolia!

Hi there. Now, you have not come to the wrong blog, you hear it correctly- I have given in and used my first Tilda image today. I have been pretty much been resistant to using them until now. So, while I was in PA I was blessed to be able to stamp some images that my friend Kathy had. So without further ado, I bring you my first Tilda card- Princess Tilda....



I was really out of my element for this card because I was going for the shabby chic look. Hopefully I pulled it off. I colored the sweet image with copics and then when over it with a spica pen. I used stickles on her crown. I distressed all the edges with scissors and sewed them. I also further distressed the card base and the image panel with walnut stain distress ink. I used a flower punch for the big flowers and sanded their edges. The smaller flowers on top of them are the Michaels white bridal flowers which I colored pink with my RV10 copic marker. When the card was finished (which took me forever btw) I sprayed the whole thing with Diamonds glimmer mist to give the whole thing shimmer.

I actually participated in 4 challenges with this card. The first is Cute Card Thursday which was to make a monochromatic card. The second was the Friday sketchers so my layout of this card was their sketch for the week. The third challenge was from the Just Magnolia challenge blog and it was to use punches on your project. The fourth was the Stamp Something challenge was was to stitch/sew on your creation, which is something that I like to do quite frequently on my cards.

Hi there! What a week here for me. I have a doozy of a cold so I am very glad that I did this card earlier in the week when I was not feeling sick yet. I colored my adorable benjamin bunny image with copics and then went over the image at the end with my copics using light feathery strokes to simulate fur. I sponged on some baja ink behind him to create a shadow and then sewed around the edges.

This card was also created for the Verve Project parade and this month's theme is Fun with Flowers. What a great theme in time for the start of spring! So for my flowers...the dp, the primas, and the flower in the pot on the image.

High Hopes Challenge 35- Circles and more circles

Happy Lord's day Sunday! I am your hostess for this week's high hopes challenge. My challenge should you choose to accept it is to use circles on your card/project. A random winner from this week's challenge participants will be chosen to receive the 2 stamps that I featured on my card- Summer's sweetness and thanks a melon.



My image was colored with copics and die cut with my circle nesties. I used stickles on the trim of the dress which is not showing well this time for me. I used this week's Friday sketchers sketch for my layout but changed the oval to a circle. I used a tiny hole punch in the center of each of the scallops.

High Hopes Challenge 31

Blessings to you on this Sunday morning! Today is the start of the high hopes weekly challenge which is brought to us by the talented guest diva Karen this week. The challenge is to doodle. I have to admit that before the other day I never doodled on anything besides adding white dots to scallops if that counts. I think I actually may like it too and perhaps do it once in awhile.



I colored the image with copics and then doodled around it to create a frame. When picking my copic colors for today I decided to make Zoe blonde because that is the copic creations challenge this week. I just found this blog and it is great because I use copics frequently so I plan on checking it out again. I picked YR31 because I saw it on Marianne Walker's blog and I never tried it before so I thought why not? My layout this week is from Friday sketchers which I just found last week- cool sketch again. The blue textured paper is a sneak peek at some of the soon to be released papers from Paper Temptress. They are really nice and come in quite a few different colors.
