January Sweet N Sassy Round Up

Greetings from the frozen tundra (AKA Buffalo LOL)! Mega cold here this week but I hope that the couple cards I have to share today warm your heart :).

It's the time of the month where the Sweet N Sassy Stamps DT each showcase a project on the SNSS blog. I created a layered heart framed card for Valentines day.

This card may look complicated but is really pretty easy to make now that I have the measurements figured out. There are 3 heart frames on this card and I used my Fiskars heart border punch to create them. After experimenting I determined that the sizes of the squares needed to make the frames are 2 3/4", 3 3/4", and 4 3/4". When using your punch be sure to move your paper over a little (to the line just after the punch edge) so that you don't end up creating a border. If the paper is cut all the way to the end you get a border not a frame- hope that makes sense. I want to try these with other punches too and see what they look like. Anyway, punch your frames and matte both silver and gold inside of them. In between each layer use pop dots to give your card dimension. The smallest frame I turned on the diagonal to turn the focus on the sentiment. I used gold pearls and gold edged ribbon for my accents. I also used 4 heart "scraps" that came from the negative portion of the border punch.

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps Love Blooms (outside sent.), True Friend (inside)
CS- red, white, gold foil from Wal-Mart
accessories- Fiskars heart border punch, gold pearls, gold edge organdy ribbon, pop dots

I have another card to show you that I did yesterday for the sketch challenge on SCS.

I stitched my bg dp to my card base and I stitched the 2 offset panels. My main image sentiment was sponged while in the nestability die and then paper pierced. I tied organdy ribbon around the middle- I chose organdy so the ribbon was subtle and not overpowering. The corners of the card and panels were accented with white pearls. The flowers are actually bridal confetti from Michaels- awesome deal because you get a ton for like $5 and that is without a coupon. They come in different colors but I have white and cream because I figured that I can color them with copics if I want a different color. I used a rhinestone in the center of them.

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps True Friend
CS- white, baja breeze, choc chip, basic grey offbeat dp, SU ski slope dp
accessories- white pearls, rhinestones, white bridal confetti, sewing machine, long rectangle nestabilities, organdy ribbon

Now I know that you are going to want to check out the fabulous newly released True Friend stamp set that I used today on my cards. The good news is that through the end of January all Sweet N Sassy stamp sets are 20% off and there is no coupon code needed!!! Is that cool or what? You know what else- they also carry basic grey 6X6 papers like the offbeat I used in the second card and the brand new bittersweet line. So be sure to visit the Sweet N Sassy store website to see all the terrific stamps and accessories they have to offer.

Also be sure to check out the sweet n sassy blog to see the rest of the awesome projects that the DT has to show you- it'll be worth the visit!

Many blessings to you!
