Sunday High Hopes Challenge week 14

Hi there! Hope everyone is doing well and is safe and warm today!

Well, it is Sunday here and that means that a new high hopes weekly challenge is under way. This week the challenge is brought to us by diva Niki Estes and her challenge is to make a "dude" card. Ok, so this is probably not my strong suit since I am a sparkly ribbon addict LOL! But I think I did ok and notice there is NO ribbon on this card. I did use the tiniest amount of sparkle though but I think it fits. Take a peek and see what you think:

I colored my image with prismapencils and blended with gamsol. I added some stickles to the fire which I think is quite appropriate even for a guy card LOL. I distressed the edges of the matte around the image and the edge of the layer adhered to the card base. I distressed the edges with my cutter bee scissors. I used to use an edge distressor tool but I was not completely happy with the results and it took awhile to do. So, I have always admired the way my fellow diva Ila distressed her cards and asked her the method she used and she told me scissors. Well, I love it! It gives better results and is much quicker than my distressing tool. I sanded the rest of the edges on the different sections with my emery board. I embellished my card with brads in the 4 corners and a photo corner in the top corner of the image.

Here is the inside:

Supplies:
stamps- high hopes warm wishes, gina k sentiment, SU sassy susie (inside)
CS- white, buckaroo blue, basic grey cupcake dp
accessories- sewing machine, emery board, scissors, pewter brads, photo corner, diamond stickles, prismapencils, gamsol

Don't forget to stop by the high hopes blog to see the other divas' awesome samples and to see the prize being offered for this week's challenge. A random drawing will be held among all the participants in this week's challenge. And yours truly is the hostess of next week's challenge. Hmmm...wonder what my challenge is LOL?

Have a blessed day and thank you so much for taking the time to come by.
