High Hopes Challenge 33

The high hopes challenge this week is No Corners and is brought to us by Niki Estes. I don't often do shape type cards so it was kinda fun to do something different. That is two days in a row with going out of the comfort zone LOL.

I used my scalloped square nestabilities to cut out the base for my card from Paper Temptress noir sparkle paper. You have to move the die slightly off the paper at the top where your fold is so that you don't just cut 2 squares. I then used my labels one die to cut out my colored Maribelle cow image. I also sponged around my image while in the die. I accented the scallops with a white gel pen to brighten up the card a little.

Supplies:
stamps- high hopes Maribelle
CS- Paper Temptress noir sparkle and Neenah white
accessories- striped grosgrain, white gel pen, scallop square nesties, labels one nesties, copics

We would love to have you play along with our challenge this week. You can see the prize up for grabs and see the divas' terrific samples for you on the high hopes blog today. Happy stamping!

sweet stop Saturday sketch #6

This week's sweet stop sketch is a neat one for a long skinny card. I don't really do this type of card so it was kinda cool to try something new. Below is the sketch and my sample:

I used the bee happy set from Sweet N Sassy stamps for the card today. This set is on sale through tomorrow (5/31) so there is still a little time to get it at the sale price. The bee has stickles on the wings and is up on pop dots. The black metallic paper is from Paper Temptress and is also on sale through tomorrow.

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps Bee Happy set
CS- PTI bitty dots dp, Paper Temptress ultrasmooth white and onyx metallic
accessories- ticket corner punch, stickles, black pearls, gingham ribbon, MS doily lace punch

You can see more terrific samples for this week's sketch on the sweet stop blog. I hope you can stop by again tomorrow for the high hopes weekly challenge.

Thanks for coming by today!

Sweet N Sassy stamps May blog hop

Welcome to day 3 of the Sweet N Sassy stamps blog hop. Have you enjoyed the wonderful creations that the DT has shown you so far? If this is your first stop then I hope you will go back and start on the SNSS blog because you won't want to miss anything. For the month of June we are featuring the "oldies but goodies". The 5 sets that the DT is featuring during the blog hop are going to be on sale starting June 1st. I chose to use the super cute Pond Pals set for my card today. I chose to make a baby card but this set is a versatile with many sayings to go with it.

I colored my duck with copics and then sponged around it while in the die. I sponged over the tiny bubbles bg with blue ink. I accented the card with ribbon and buttons. My layout is the Friday sketchers sketch from last Friday.

Supplies:
stamps- SNSS Pond Pals
CS- Paper Temptress light blue basis, ultrasmooth white, SU so saffron, DCWV dp
accessories- buttons, gigham ribbon, copics, SU oval punches, oval nesties, PTI spring rain grosgrain, cb tiny bubbles folder

Your next stop on today's hop is Suzy and she has a great card to show, you won't want to miss it.

Thanks for dropping by! I will be back tomorrow with the sweet stop Saturday sketch- hope you can stop in. Have a great day.

Mojo Monday Week 88

Happy mojo Memorial day to my American crafting friends out there! I hope you have all enjoyed your weekend whatever you did. Mine was pretty busy and today we are cleaning the garage and doing yard work. We do it every Memorial as long as the weather cooperates. I do not enjoy yard work very much and do not have a green thumb. The weather is absolutely perfect here in Buffalo today though- sunny and a high of 69. It is great to do work in, if you have to that is LOL!

So on with the show! Below is my sample along with this week's wonderful sketch from Julee.

I really enjoyed the sketch this week! I mean I like all the sketches but I find some of them more challenging than others-KWIM? This week I did not struggle too much and found the images and papers I wanted to use pretty quickly. I chose these adorable Nana's nursery dps from DCWV and thought they paired perfectly with my Summer Fun and Summer sentiments stamp sets from Sweet N Sassy stamps. They are still on sale for 15% through the end of the month BTW. I first masked off the "berry" part of my stamp with scotch tape so that I could ink up the outer circle in green. Then I stamped my strawberry in the center- stamping off once so that is was a pinky color to match the papers rather than red. Finally I repeated the masking so that I could stamp "berry" in black. I sewed all the layers and chose to "pop" the colors with black.

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps Summer Fun and Summer sentiments
CS- Paper Temptress ultrasmooth white, gumdrop green poptones, and basis black, Nana's nursery dp
accessories- pop dots, black pearls, circle nesties, sewing machine, paper piercer, PTI new leaf grosgrain ribbon

For some more inspiration and to check out all the info for this week's mojo challenge please visit the Mojo Monday blog. Also, Friday Verve Stamps just released 6 new stamp sets in time for Father's day so be sure to check it out! Julee did a wonderful job with them.

I have my color Monday challenge posted in the Christian Papercrafts Magazine forum and would love to have you play along!

Enjoy your day!!

High Hopes Challenge 32

Hi everyone! Welcome to another weekly edition of the high hopes challenge. The challenge this week is brought to us by the wonderfully talented guest designer Tab. She chose an absolutely yummy color combo for us to work with- pink and brown! I love this combo and it is one of my faves to use. I immediately thought of my basic grey bittersweet dp when I saw the challenge and that is what I used for my guide when coloring my image.

I colored the image with my copics and used a spica glitten pen on the shirt and silver stickles on the microphone. I cut out Catrina and popped her up with pop dots on my sponged nestie. The gorgeous papers are from Paper Temptress and they are bronze metallic, cappuccino metallic, and mountain rose glimmer. I want to remind you that the metallic line is 25% off for the rest of May so there is not much time left.

Supplies:
stamps- high hopes singing Catrina, you rock sentiment
CS- bronze and cappuccino metallic, mountain rose glimmer; Paper Temptress, basic grey bittersweet dp
accessories- rhinestones, paisley cb folder, PTI blush satin ribbon, copics (E000, E00, R20, E30, E31, E33, E35, E37, E25, E27, E29, E47, E49, RV10, RV11)

You can see this week's prize and some more wonderful inspiration from the divas on the high hopes blog.

I will be back tomorrow with my Mojo Monday sample and the Christian Papercrafts color challenge. I hope you can stop in!

Have a blessed Lord's day Sunday!

Sweet stop Saturday sketch #5

Korin is back this week with another great sketch for us. I thought that this one was a pretty versatile sketch and not too tough also. Below is the sketch and my sample:

I decided to flip the sketch horizontally this week. I embossed my scripture verse from Sweet N Sassy stamps with gold embossing powder and die cut and embossed it with my labels four nesties. The border was created with my new EK Success border punch. The gorgeous papers I used today are from Paper Temptress. I used cryogen white for all of the layers and candido incandescent

closer view:

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps Thanksgiving set
CS- Paper Temptress cryogen white and candido incandescent
accessories- labels four nesties, pearls, ivory satin ribbon, EK Success border punch, gold ep

Hope you enjoyed my card today and will decide to try out the sketch challenge this week. You can find more super DT samples and challenge info on the sweet stop blog.

High Hopes Challenge 31

Blessings to you on this Sunday morning! Today is the start of the high hopes weekly challenge which is brought to us by the talented guest diva Karen this week. The challenge is to doodle. I have to admit that before the other day I never doodled on anything besides adding white dots to scallops if that counts. I think I actually may like it too and perhaps do it once in awhile.

I colored the image with copics and then doodled around it to create a frame. When picking my copic colors for today I decided to make Zoe blonde because that is the copic creations challenge this week. I just found this blog and it is great because I use copics frequently so I plan on checking it out again. I picked YR31 because I saw it on Marianne Walker's blog and I never tried it before so I thought why not? My layout this week is from Friday sketchers which I just found last week- cool sketch again. The blue textured paper is a sneak peek at some of the soon to be released papers from Paper Temptress. They are really nice and come in quite a few different colors.

Here is a close up and view of the inside for you:

Supplies:
stamps- high hopes Zoe, Sweet N Sassy stamps Easter lily set (inside)
CS- blue textured, pop tones red hot and ultrasmooth white from Paper Temptress, SU dp
accessories- stitched grosgrain-PTI, primas, buttons, ornare piercing template (inside)
copics- B32, B34, B37, E000, E00, R20, R46, R39, YR21, E31, E33, E37, E29, W1, W3, W5

Sweet stop Saturday with a spin

Hope you are having a nice weekend so far. Today I have 2 cards to show you for the Sweet Stop weekly Saturday sketch. This week is our special week at the sweet stop in that this week's sketch also has a spin to it. This week's spin is to make your card masculine too. Oh and did I mention that there is a stamp set up for grabs if you decide to play along with us this week? Korin will be giving away a Cool Dude stamp set to a random participant in this week's challenge. I used this set for one of my cards today and I used it on yesterday's Father's day card for my dad too. It is a great guy set to have so I hope you will decide to play along this week. Below is the sketch and my samples to get you started.

I stamped a bg for my image panel with the hat stamp from Sweet N Sassy stamps Cool Dude set (this week's prize). I then stamped my hat and colored it with copics, cut it out and popped it up. I sewed on all my layers to represent the sewing on the baseballs on my dp. The awesome red bg layer is red pepper columns paper from Paper Temptress which has embossed stripes on it. I just love it!! No need to pull out the cuttlebug folders for it and it comes in other colors too.

Inside of card:

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps Cool dude set and birthday greetings set
CS- Paper Temptress red pepper columns and heavenly ultrasmooth white, SU basic grey, baseball dp
accessories- pewter hardware, copics (R46, R39, C1, C3, C5), sewing machine

Here is my second sample which is also for the Christian Papercrafts magazine bible verse challenge this week. Korin is on a roll with the spins this week because this week's bible challenge has a color challenge spin of black, tan, and teal.

I used some cool papers from Paper Temptress for this card- teal grandee felt, black leather, ivory suede.

Supplies:
stamp- Sweet N Sassy stamps Pray without Ceasing
CS- Paper Temptress ivory suede, black leather, teal grandee
accessories- twine, button

Here is the LINK to this week's challenge for you where you will find the challenge info and some more great samples from the Sweet N Sassy stamps Sr. DT members.

Sweet N Sassy stamps May round up

Hi everybody! Today is the monthly round up over at Sweet N Sassy stamps and what wonderful eye candy the DT has for you featuring some of our spring and summer stamps sets which are on sale 15% off for the rest of May. I have shown you some cards using the summer fun and summer sentiments set the past couple of weeks so I thought I would change it up a bit and show you a masculine card for the round up.

I chose the cool dude stamp set for my card today. This set is one of the sets on sale too and is great for cards/scrapbooks for the boys in your life. I stamped my tie image 3 times on my dp, cut them out and adhered with pop dots. I used my scissors to distress my layers and accented the card with twill and brown brads. Pretty easy card to create really. Hopefully my dad will like it.

For the inside of the card I stamped one of the sentiments in the set and distressed the edges to coordinate with the front. I also stamped my border on the bottom with 3 of the stamps from the set. Since this card is for my dad, he is also my daughters' grandpa and I thought it would be neat to have that sentiment in there.

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps Cool Dude set
CS- basic grey granola dp, Paper Temptress chocolate sorbet CS for the base
accessories- SU twill, brown brads, pop dots

Be sure to check out the other DT samples on the Sweet N Sassy stamps blog post today- you won't want to miss them!

Mojo Monday Week 86

Good mojo Monday morning! Hope the mothers out there enjoyed a blessed Mother's day yesterday. Mine was pretty good and I am so blessed to have my 3 wonderful girls to have shared it with.

Hope you enjoy Julee's sketch for this week. See my sample and the sketch below:

My birthday card stash has depleted so I thought I would try to replenish it. I thought that the adorable Olivia owl would be great for this week's sketch. Sweet N Sassy stamps has 3 different Olivia stamp sets available and I personally think that they are some of the cutest owl sets out there. For my card I used 2 of them, Owl Celebrations and Sweet Dreams for the branch. I stamped my images and colored them with copics except for the balloon which was paper pieced. I cut the branch out omitting the leaves because I did not want green in my card and pieced it beneath Olivia owl. I popped up the balloon and party hat with pop dots and stickles glitter glue was used to accent the hat and presents. The rhinestones in the scallops were clear but then after I remembered that I could color them pink with my copics so I did!

The inside of the card uses sentiments from SNSS birthday greetings set which were stamped in brown over the top of the present image which was stamped in pink

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet N Sassy stamps Owl Celebrations, Sweet Dreams and Birthday Greetings
Cardstock- Paper Temptress orange fizz poptones and Chocolate sorbet, Neenah white (available at both Paper Temptress and Sweet N Sassy stamps), SU dp
accessories- rhinestones, copics (RV10, RV11, RV13, YR16, E37, E29, E47)

Please visit the mojo Monday blog for this week's challenge info and for more awesome inspiration from the mojo makers.

Up for a double challenge? Check out the color challenge that I am hosting this week on CPCM. Here is the challenge link for you.

One last note for today. It is actually my 7th wedding anniversary today and it is also my one year blogging anniversary today! It is hard to believe one year has passed and I am so fortunate to have so many people visit my blog and offer such encouraging and kind words. Thank you all for your support! Well, I am sure that you all knows what this means. Yup. blog candy time!!! I also crossed the 40,000 hits mark this weekend so there may be 2 drawings- we'll see. I am working on finishing putting the goodies together so please stop back again this week for the blog candy post.

Thanks for visiting today- see you again soon!

Happy Mother's day!!

I would like to wish all of the mothers out there a very special day! Today also starts a new weekly high hopes challenge. This week the theme was one for the boys and is brought to us by Anna. I decided to use one of the images that was given to me quite some time ago because I thought it fit this week's theme really well. The only thing is that the paper it is stamped on did not work well with my copics so I threw the first attempt out and then I decided to use my pencils since I have not used them for quite some time. The paper is super smooth and has a coating so even the pencils were tough but it came out pretty well. Hope you think so too:

I sewed on all of my sections which is also something I have not done in awhile so I was happy to do it again. I was really excited because all the dp strips were taken from my scrap file- love when that happens! I have been struggling creatively this week so after I colored my image I was not sure what to do with it. I already had picked out the dp but was drawing a blank with the layout so I decided to take a break and blog hop to see if I could find any cool sketches to get me going again. BTW- that is a tip for you if you are kinda struggling like me, use a sketch, it takes alot of the guess work out and for me alleviated some of my stress LOL. So in my hop I came across a sketch blog I had never heard of before and I LOVE it! It is Friday Sketchers and I saw that one of my fellow SNSS DT members Jeanette started designing for them. So I used this week's sketch for my layout.

Supplies:
stamps- high hopes Froggy gift
CS- jershey shore dp, brilliant blue, Paper temptress ultrasmooth white
accessories- sewing machine, prismapencils, gamsol, buttons

I hope that you can find some time to play along with the high hopes challenge this week. You can see more terrific inspiration from the divas and find out the challenge deets on the high hopes blog.

Have a blessed day!

Sweet Stop Saturday

Welcome to another sweet stop Saturday sketch. This week I was the one who designed the sketch and Korin made it pretty for me since I am not that great with Photoshop. I like the way the sketch came out but I honestly am not happy with my card and this is the second time this week this has happened. Where oh where has my mojo gone oh where oh where can it be? Oh well- maybe my mojo will return soon hopefully. I know that lack of time and feeling overwhelmed lately probably has a bit to do with it. You know how it goes too much to do and no time to do it? My youngest daughter goes to kindergarten in Sept and this is my last month home with her by herself ever so I am feeling that I need to spend as much time with her as I can. I also started going back to the gym 2 weeks ago after not going for 3 months following my ankle injury. So basically I have not had much time to stamp and when I have done some I feel rushed-KWIM? Tonight I am going out for my anniversary and I truthfully have a bad attitude today so I need to pray that God would sweeten my spirit so I don't ruin it for my hubby. Well thanks for listening and on to the card LOL!

Check out the sketch and my card:

I stamped the ice cream cone twice and cut the top off of them. I colored them with copics and then embossed them with iridescent ice ep before popping them up on pop dots. I used the Summer Fun and Summer sentiments stamp sets which are on sale this month at Sweet N Sassy stamps.

Supplies:
stamps- sweet n sassy stamps Summer Fun and Summer sentiments
CS- Paper Temptress lemon drop, white, Basic Grey dp
accessories- iridescent ice ep, shimmer brads, double ended tags nesties, taffeta ribbon, copics

Check out the challenge info and the some great examples from the Sr DT on the Sweet Stop blog.

Have a marvelous day and thanks for dropping in!

High Hopes Challenge 29

I wanted to post this earlier but the internet was down and then we had family over so this is the first I could post my challenge card for this week. This week the high hopes challenge is to use heat embossing and is brought to us by Ying. My card did not come out how I wanted so I can't say that I am completely happy with it. I guess that happens though. I originally had something else planned but it just did not work so this card was plan B.

I colored the flower with copics then pressed my versamark dazzle pad over the top and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I love the dazzle pad because it gives a subtle sparkle to it. I added liquid pearls to the center of the scallops. I popped the image up on pop dots using Paper Temptress cryogen white as the base and layering that on Fairway metallic. The whole metallic line is 25% off this month at Paper Temptress.

Supplies:
stamps- high hopes large open flower
CS- Paper Temptress cryogen white, fairway metallic, SU groovy guava, dp
copics- R00, R02, G21, G24
accessories- versamark dazzle, ivory satin ribbon, circle nesties, liquid pearls, scallop corner punch, pearls, clear embossing powder

Check out the high hopes blog for the challenge details, prize offering, and divas' samples on the high hopes blog

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sweet Stop sketch #2 inspired by Faviana

Hi there! Do you like sketch challenges? If so then Korin has a great one to try this week on the new sweet stop blog. Each Saturday there will be a new sketch posted on the Sweet Stop blog and one Saturday a month will be a prize Saturday. I also combined the sketch this week with the inspiration challenge today on SCS which was Faviana prom gowns. Take a look at the sketch and my card:

Did you know that Sweet N Sassy stamps has digital stamps available for purchase? Every Thursday some new images are added to the collection. Some are single images are single images and others are mini sets. There is quite a variety to choose from. This is a great new affordable way to get some new "stamps" to play with. I have to admit that at first I was a bit intimidated with them but now I think a digi monster has been created in me LOL! Today's card is the first digi image that I have ever used. It is called sweet thang and is a mini set. I simply cropped the cupcake image using my photoshop program and made it the size I wanted. Yes, that is right you can make the images any size you want which is one of the cool things about digi images! I then colored it with my copics. Copics work pretty well with digis and some printers are better than others. I have an HP printer which is not one of the better inks but it still worked fine for me. I just was fairly careful about not going over the lines too heavily. If you watercolor then you need to use watercolor paper and Diana Gibbs I know has a tutorial regarding this. I have not tried it yet. I then cut out the top of the cupcake and popped it up over the first and the popped up just the cherry for the 3rd layer. The sprinkles were accented with stickles and the cherry was accented with crystal effects.

Here is the inside of the card. For the cupcake border I just resized the same cupcake image that I used on the front of the card and cut an pasted it several times to create my border. That is pretty cool huh? I then used some sentiments from the newly release birthday greetings set for the inside of my card.

My fellow Sweet N Sassy DT member Deedee Anderson has some wonderful tutorials for you on how to work with digi images located on her blog sidebar. As a matter of fact, that is how I learned so I could make this card.

I hope you will go and take a peek at the digital images available for download at Sweet N Sassy stamps. I don't think you will be dissappointed. Digital images not your thing? Well all the spring and summer stamp sets are on sale this month 15% off and there are plenty to choose from in the Sweet N Sassy stamps store

Supplies:
stamps- Sweet Thang digi set and Birthday greetings stamp set both from Sweet N Sassy stamps
CS- Paper Temptress watermelon sorbet cardstock, bazzill bling orange, SU green galore, dp
copics- YG06, YG09, RV17, RV19, YR16, YR07
accessories- double sided satin ribbon, stickles, crystal effects, birthday cb folder, shimmer brads, primas, circle nesties, white gel pen

Enjoy your weekend!
