Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge

Every Friday Taylor VanBruggen posts her cupcake challenge sketch. It is not "mandatory" that you use cupcakes but as Taylor says if you got em why not use em. You can see her sketch here. This is the first time I have played along but won't be the last LOL. Truthfully, I am not sure if I am totally happy with how this card came out. It is not bad but not quite how I envisioned it in my head. I think that the combo of the 2 coordinating dps might be too much. Take a peek and see what ya think.

Supplies:
stamps- Inkadinkado cupcakes
CS- doodlebug dp, SU pink passion, green galore, only orange
ink- pink passion
accessories- stardust stickles, Spare Parts shimmer brads, SU brads, double sided ribbon from Michaels
tools- prismacolor pencils, gamsol, cuttlebug bday folder, SU oval punches, perfect layers tool

I double matted my first dp and then adhered my middle strip which I ran through my cuttlebug and matted. I took my second dp and double matted that also and attached to the card. I stamped my cupcakes, colored them with prismacolors pencils and gamsol and added some stickles of course. The image was matted and brads were added to the 4 corners. The sentiment was stamped using my tape masking technique because the whole stamp reads "Sweet Birthday Wishes" and that would obviously not fit in the oval. I attached my double sided ribbon which I LOVE with shimmer brads. TFL.

Today is mojo Monday and Julee has the sketch posted on her blog. I will be doing that one later in the week. I really need some Verve stamps as I don't own any yet and I have to fix that LOL!

I will leave you with this song that is in my head now. "Just another Manic Monday...wish it was Sunday...cause that's my fun day". Now for all you youngins out there that song was sung by the Bangles and released in 1986. I am forever an
80s girl. As a matter of fact, my 20 year high school reunion is this month (now you know my age LOL) and the questionnaire they sent us had a question asking who your favorite "hair" band was- hee hee.

Have a terrific day and don't forget to enter for the blog candy today!

That has to be one of the most original cupcake cards I have seen. Somehow all the other ones seem so similar. Way to go.
